Bruxism and TMJ Disorder
GENERAL DENTAL CARE
Bruxism is grinding your teeth or clenching your jaw, either during the day, or most of the time, at night while you sleep. It could be due to a variety of factors, including stress or an uneven bite. Some common symptoms of bruxism are headaches, soreness of the jaw, worn down or broken teeth.

To treat bruxism, we fit you with a custom made mouthguard to protect your teeth.

The Temporomandibular joints, or TMJ, are the joints and muscles located near your ears and allow you to open and close your mouth. Any problem in this joint muscles complex can result in painful TMD or TMJ disorder.

TMD can be caused by bruxism, arthritis, or injury to the jaws. If you develop any pain, clicking or popping, we have simple treatments that can help, including a night guard and jaw exercises.
